ENABLE DHC Rīgā: gudrākas un digitālāk pārvaldītas siltumapgādes nākotne
Riga is modernising its district heating network with digital tools and recovered waste heat as part of the ENABLE DHC project, which is developing nine investment plans across seven countries. The city’s focus is the Daugavgrīva wastewater treatment plant, where about 380,000 MWh of waste heat per year could be turned into roughly 560,000 MWh of heat using heat pumps. Plans also include connecting the Daugavgrīva and Bolderāja networks and building a heat accumulator to cut fossil capacity. The project aims to reach about 70 GWh per year five years after its end, cutting emissions by more than 34,000 tCO₂eq annually and mobilising around €30 million in investment.
